The Apse is the semi-circular east end of the Cathedral, which in St Paul's is found behind the baldacchino and High Altar. It was destroyed in the second World War by a bomb. In the rebuilding, this space was furnished as the American Memorial Chapel, and was consecrated as such in November 1958.
