360° Panorama
The third bay of the Quire brings us to the foot of the steps of the High Altar, crowned with its baldacchino of 1958 (with a figure of Christ, his hand raised in blessing). To the north and south are the magnificent gilded screens which were created in 1896 by Bodley and Garner out of Tijou's ironwork which had originally stood beneath the choir screen and organ. The High Altar is the focal point for Cathedral worship taking place in the Quire.
